Samsara
If you are suffering, you are lost in thought – Sam Harris
I moved ahead, yet lost in sight
My body here, my mind in flight
Each step was taken, unobserved,
A silent drift, a path unserved
A single glance — and I was gone,
No knowing where I wandered on
A thought arose, unassigned—
Just one more step within the mind
When finally arrived—the moment passed
No sense of how it moved so fast
A gap in time, a break in view,
No trace of what I once knew.
A passing word — something to share
In distant thought, in borrowed care
From thought to thought, unseen, confined,
A thousand worlds within the mind.
Each one complete, each one felt true
Until it faded out of view
Again “I” rose in what I’d find
And called each passing thought as mine
A thousand deaths I could not see
A thousand births inside of me.
No start, no end, no thread to bind
Just thought to thought, a wandering mind.
